Local authority are looking to recruit an interim head of asset management as there has been a gap of permanent AD level leadership in this service for some time. This role will provide leadership to the division and stabilise the service during a time of high demand and member scrutiny associated with the local elections, whilst setting in train a series of longer-term priorities.
The role will sit of the wider Directorate Management team, as one of the three Assistant Directors in the Housing & Safer Communities Directorate.
The exact work programme is up for discussion with the assignee, but is likely to include:
- An end to end review and process improvements of the voids process and repairs customer journey, including the work with staff to own their improvements from the review.
- A review and proposals for DLO operating model that drives improved productivity, performance and customer focus. This is likely to include proposals for revised reward and recognition arrangements for operatives
- Light touch review of compliance and fire safety arrangements
- Heavy touch review of financial controls, reporting and benchmarking
- Oversee introduction of first 5 year capital programme and associated procurement, including recommendations for ongoing procurement skill sets
- Propose renewed organisational structure for division
