Our client is seeking an experienced and hardworking Housing Service Manager to manage the Housing team and be responsible for supported housing and housing management services. This excellent Housing Service Manager role will see you providing high quality accommodation and housing services for customers in an efficient, effective and safe manor in order to maximise income and meet statutory obligations.

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential to hold a valid driving license and have access to your own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide line management, support and guidance to the Housing team
  • Accountable for the day to day delivery of housing management services across the group
  • Meet requirements for health and safety, building and equipment checks and regulation
  • Provide support on housing related matters
  • Maintain strong relationships with housing partners, ensuring to deliver on obligations
  • Support the development of new services
  • Support and co-ordinate the annual setting of rental charges across the organisation
  • Produce regular reports for internal and external stakeholders as required

 

Performance Indicators:

  • Delivering responsibilities within the budget provided
  • Providing maintenance services within the required timescales
  • Minimising financial risk and loss through low levels of voids and arrears
  • Meeting statutory and corporate responsibilities
  • Positive feedback from your team, stating that you are a supportive manager
  • Meeting objectives agreed with your manager

 

Experience Required:

  • Supported housing, housing management and asset maintenance
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across a geographically dispersed organisation to deliver organisation objectives
  • Effective contract management
  • Knowledge and understanding of sound financial management
  • Contemporary understanding of the supported housing sector, relevant legislation and the housing and accommodation needs of people with complex needs
  • Understanding of rent structuring and setting requirements, eligible activity, exemption, intensive housing management, local area housing allowance and pending change to supported housing funding
  • Knowledge of Local Authority, CQC and CCG requirements
  • Understanding of health and safety
  • Knowledge of housing management processes included rent setting, income recovery, management of tenancies and provision of housing services
